     Bowers & Wilkins is a company that makes high-end speakers in Britain which is known for its research and new products development. The name was derived from its founders, John Bowers and Roy Wilkins.   The company was established in 1966 and have been a partner with Jaguar, Maserati, Volvo and BMW in their car audio system.  Their headphones were also used at the famous Abbey Road Studios.

     The PX5 is an on-ear headphone while the PX7 as the over-the-ear version.  They are priced $299 and $399, respectively.  There is also the PI3, which is the behind the ear version.

     The PX5 looks gorgeous, sexy and sleek.  The arms are made of composite carbon fiber with an oil-resistant fabric around the ear cuffs.  You can adjust the size by pulling either the left and the right cuff from the headband.  The ear cuffs and the headband have soft premium padding so you can wear it comfortably for hours.

     The carbon fiber allows the headphone to be lightweight, although, not as light as other premium headphones on the market.  The headphones weigh 8.5 oz.

Operations: 

     The buttons are simple and easy to operate.  You can get familiar with the operations within seconds.  If you lift any of the earpieces, the music will pause and will continue when you put it back.  The up and down buttons are stricly used for volume control.  You can go to the next and previous selections by pressing the middle button two times and three times.  Pressing it once will pause the music.

Ambient pass-through can be enabled and disabled by pressing the noise cancelling button for at least 2 seconds.

Standby mode.  By removing the headphones, it will automatically enter standby mode to preserve battery life.

It has an amazing 25-hour battery life even with the active noise canceling turned on.  I have been using this pair for many hours and still keeps on going and going.  And if you need to plug it to recharge, it also charges incredibly fast.  A 15 minute charge will provide 5 hours of playback.

You can choose different levels of noise canceling.
- High (airplane cabin)
- Low (when you need to hear the surroundings)
- Automatic (Adjusts to the current environment)
- Off (no noise cancelation)

Pros:

Macbook USB Type-C to MagSafe Converter

When I purchased my fir Macbook Air, I thought of the MagSafe is very ingenious.  I always fear to rip off my cable or worse pulling my laptop to the floor if I or anybody accidentally trip on the cord.  Magsafe has a pretty strong magnet to keep it attached to charge your Macbook yet can easily disengage when tugged.

When I upgraded to a Type-C Macbook, I miss having the MagSafe.  This Type-C to MagSafe converter just brings back the Magsafe to the Macbook.  It works outright and just like the original MagSafe, it has a pretty strong magnet.  

You can connect the cord either running towards the back or runs on the side of the laptop to the front.  You will see an LED when it is charging.  For me, the most important thing is that it does its job protecting my notebook.

Cons: 

a) This gadget is composed of 2 parts.  One attached to the cord and the other one connects to your laptop.  Sometimes the part that attaches to the laptop gets pulled with the cord.  
b) Your Macbook will have a small knob (around 0.2 inch) protruding on the side of your laptop.

• It has connector pins that are designed so the rectangular connector can be inserted in either orientation 
• The outer large pins are grounds.

Soon, my New Titanium Apple Card

I received the invitation today through my email and applied for it.  It is true, it'll take only a couple minutes and you get the approval or denial almost instantly.  Actually, I did send my intention to Apple weeks ago and I have no idea if it has anything to do with today's invitation, or maybe everybody got the invitation today.  And there it is, on my Apple Wallet, ready to be used anytime.  Just have to wait for the physical card on the mailbox in three to four days.

My First Video to Reach a Million Views on YouTube

Like so many others, this was a complete surprise.  I have many videos that I got excited to publish that I thought would be my next video to hit 100K views, but only to fade to a whimper.  It is true, you really have no idea which video will be watched by many.  As of today, I had a few that reached 1M.  Not one of them has a concrete formula as to why it attracted attention.  Yet I can only surmise a few reasons.

1. Novelty and timeliness - it is new or there is not a lot of similar videos at the time.
2. Fun - certainly we had fun during the process of making the video and that gets across to the audience.
3. Popularity of the product - it is what people are looking for at that time.

I had the idea when my kids went to Chuck e Cheese.  They have a UV stamp that they put on your arm so you can come back in and out as you wish.  Then we bought a spy pen. My kids had fun with it for days but I thought it would be fun to make our own.  Most of the spy pen also uses a tiny tip and we wanted a good size tip like a marker.

I did search online and came up with the Noodler’s ultraviolet ink  I paid $13.11 back in May 2011.  For the pen, I chose a yellow marker because of all the colors, I thought this would be the easiest to get rid off and dilute in water.  The procedure is on the video below.

In terms of analytics, 68% came from suggested videos and 20% from YouTube search.  It was uploaded on March 3, 2015, and had its peak on September 27, 2016, when it was viewed 7,754 on that day, which is about a year and a half from when it was posted.  After more than 4 years, it still gets viewed about 100 times a day.

Who's Starting a Blog Today?

This will be the first post for this blog.  It is August of 2019.  Yes, I know, it maybe years and years too late but I am curious how blogging works.  My first goal for now is education.  Looking forward to learn new things.  The first obstacle is when to start it, and I thought, what the heck, just do it!

For the very first day, I learned how to put a pic and a counter on the page.  I would love to make it simple as much as possible.

I have enjoyed making contents on YouTube for 4-1/2 years and I am looking forward for new adventure in this medium.
